  9. <p>The unit was formed as the 94th Bombardment Wing at Marietta AFB, GA (later Dobbins AFB) in June 1949 as a Light Bombardment Wing in the Reserve with the B-26 and a variety of trainers. The wing was ordered to active service in March 1951 but inactivated in April 1951. The unit was redesignated 94th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing and activated in June 1952 in the Reserve. Its designation changed to 94th Bombardment Wing in May 1955 when it moved to Scott AFB, becoming the 94th Troop Carrier Wing in July 1957 and relocating to L. G. Hanscom Field in November 1957. The wing moved back to Dobbins AFB in July 1972. The unit was ordered to active service in October/November 1962, and changed destination to 94th Military Airlift Wing in October 1966 and Tactical Airlift Wing in July 1972. The 94th won Volant Rodeo (the forerunner of Airlift Rodeo) at Pope AFB in 1985. A variety of transport aircraft have been operated since 1957, including the C-47, C-119, C-124, C-7 and C-130H from 1985.
